In this privacy statement we describe how Pure Samos and our affiliates (Pure Samos, we, us) process the personal information you choose to provide us with through your use of the Pure Samos website / platform. Your privacy is important to us and we want to be transparent about the processing of your personal data.

This privacy statement describes in comprehensible and transparant manner how we use and process your personal data. It also tells you what rights you can exercise in relation to your personal data and how you can contact us. In the Cookie section you can read how our websites use cookies and other similar tracking technologies.

We’d like to point out that all the information in our privacy statement applies to all of our platforms and any kind of customer information we collect. 

If we make any updates to this Privacy Statement with significant impact, we’ll notify our users before the updates take effect.

This information could include images of your government issued ID (as permitted by applicable laws), your ID number or other verification information, bank account or payment account information. ​​If you are not a user on Pure Samos, we may receive payment information relating to you, such as when a Pure Samos user provides your payment card to complete a booking. If a copy of your ID is provided to us, we may scan, use, and store information contained in your ID to verify your identity.

Additional Profile Information

Gender, preferred language(s), city, and personal description. Some of this information is part of your public profile page and will be publicly visible.

This information could include payment instrument belonging to another person or information about a co-traveler. By providing us with personal information about others, you certify that you have permission to provide that information to Pure Samos for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, have shared the Pure Samos Privacy Policy with them, and they have read and understood that it applies to them.

This could include information provided when you fill in a form, add information to your account, respond to surveys, post a comment or review, participate in promotions, communicate with our customer care and other members, or share your experience with us. This may include health information if you choose to share that with us.

3.3 Information Automatically Collected by Using the Pure Samos website / platform and our Payment Services

When you use the Pure Samos website / platform and Payment Services, we automatically collect personal information. This information may include:

Geo-location Information

For example precise or approximate location determined from your IP address or mobile device’s GPS depending on your device settings. 

Usage Information

Such as the pages or content you view, searches for accommodations, bookings you have made, and other actions on the websites / platforms.

Log Data and Device Information

For example details about how you’ve used the Pure Samos websites / platforms (including if you clicked on links to third party applications), IP address, access dates and times, hardware and software information, device information, device event information, unique identifiers, crash data, cookie data, and the pages you’ve viewed or engaged with before or after using the Pure Samos websites / platforms. We may collect this information even if you haven’t created a Pure Samos account or logged in.

Payment Transaction Information

Such as payment instrument used, date and time, payment amount, payment instrument expiration date and billing postcode, PayPal email address, IBAN information, your address, and other related transaction details.

If you link, connect, or login to the Pure Samos website / platform with a third party service, you direct the service to send us information such as your registration and profile information as controlled by that service or as authorised by you via your privacy settings at that service.

Referrals and co-travelers

If you are invited to the Pure Samos website / platform, the person who invited you can submit personal information about you such as your email address or other contact information.

3. HOW WE USE INFORMATION WE COLLECT

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the website / platform we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymised string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Media

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Cookies

If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address, telephone number and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

If you have an account and you log in to this site, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognise and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time, with the exception of  their username. Website administrators can also see and edit the username.
