Kokkari is a picturesque village located on the north side of Samos, about 10 kilometers from Samos Town. It’s name is derived from the large quantities of onions that grew in the area (Kokkari = Onion). This popular coastal resort is known for its beautiful architecture and relaxed atmosphere. 

Kokkari is surrounded by lush hills, mountain villages full of flowers, and hiking paths that offer extraordinary views of the Aegean Sea. It is therefor the perfect starting point for walking and hiking the north coast of Samos and exploring the nearby villages like Platanakia, Valeondates, and Stavrinides. 

In the vicinity of Kokkari you will find several stunning beaches. In the village itself you can relax on Kokkari Beach and a small distance away you will find Lemonakia, Tsamadou, and Tsambou Beach, which are perfect for swimming and sunbathing
